NutraGanics Ltd. was conceptualized in 2010 by George Clarke Jnr, a Biochemist. George Clarke Jnr visualized a family run farm that cultivated Aloe Vera, Peppermint, Lemon Grass, Rosemary, Basil; Sage, Hibiscus, Guinea hen weed and other traditional herbs, spices and nutraceutical plants. He also visualized the production of Nutraceuticals and Organic products from the Aloe Vera and other plants cultivated. These include hair products, cosmetics, toiletries, teas etc.

In August 2012, the vision was put into action and a business built on the combined experience of four generations of farmers in the Clarke family was formed. The primary focus of the business in the first twelve months was the sourcing and the cultivation of the various plants. We have been most successful in the cultivation of Aloe as inventory currently stands at ~2000 plants of various sizes. We also have about a half-acre of lemon grass and about 100 peppermint plants in cultivation.

In September 2013 we  realized that there was an opportunity to not only produce and market the Aloe Vera and other  plants but that converting them to end products would yield significant profits as there exists an established and growing market for natural cosmetics, remedies and toiletries. As such, to date we have produced a Face wash, Low Sulfate Shampoo, Sulfate-Free Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Lotion, Gel and a Raw Aloe extract from Aloe Vera  which have been well received by a small but growing group of customers as we continue to forge distribution linkages.

NutraGanics Ltd. is still in its embryonic phase having been registered just over two years now. We however have learned a lot in that time, about our industry and the niche we seek to carve out and the challenges of doing business in Jamaica. We have also listened to the feedback from our initial customer cohort and have made improvements in our products based on their feedback. This has significantly improved the quality of our products, there is however some way to go before they meet or surpass international standards (because our goal is to become a recognized international brand with the next 5 years).
